The Edge Coffee Shop will be closed throughout August to give our team of wonderful volunteers a well earned break. We will be open as usual next Wednesday, July 31st, 10.30am to 12.30am and reopen after our break on September 4th.

A CHARITY YOU HAVE ALL SUPPORTED
Today (30th July) a few of us visited Grimsby based charity, The Great Escape which was set up by a recovering addict to help and support other addicts and their families. We were delighted to be able to present them with a cheque for £640 which is money raised by The Edge Coffee Shop. We talked to several people there and heard their stories, some of which are truly inspirational and speak volumes to the work of this amazing charity based on Grimsby docks.
All the decor of the inside has been carried out by recovering addicts and the nautical/heritage theme runs strongly throughout. The charity have kept a number of authentic features of the original building and the recovering addicts have had fun with some. The original strong room for Consolidated Fisheries.
There is a cafe on site open to all and the kitchen is an excellent facility.
The charity involves itself in creative arts and is responsible for several murals in the Grimsby and Cleethorpes area. They have other projects in hand.
The charity are hoping to develop a garden area and made a great start with the donation of an award winning garden from the Chelsea flower show.
It was great to meet different people there and to know that the donations you have given in the cafe are very valued and will be used to good purpose.
