Staycation (Church Family Weekend)

Tent-Camping-ImageWe have been looking at ways in which we might have a church holiday together. The costs of those we looked at probably excluded some people, so we decided to look at a “Staycation”. Bet you never thought to holiday in Stallingborough!

Camping: We are offering space to camp for the weekend on the edge of the Christmas Trees, its actually quite pretty. Those who aren’t into camping can join in any of the events and sleep in their own beds.  We are beginning on Friday evening, but if you can’t make a Friday you can still pitch your tent/caravan for the Saturday only. The date is Friday 10th July to Sunday 12th noon.

Programme: Friday – 6.30pm onwards pitch tents, 8.00pm Campfire singalong, bring your marshmallows etc. Saturday – am – Walk to Healing for Fish and Chips,  pm – Acivities, Evening – Ceilidh (tickets £3/kids free), BBQ/picnic.  Sunday – Service in the barn led by Nikki.  More details will be available by email or phone.

If you aren’t able to join in anything like the walk to Healing, please feel free to drive there and join the rest. Or if you don’t fancy the activities, sit in a nice garden chair and watch them.  Dip into one part of the weekend or many, the choice is yours. The weekends aim is to get to spend some time together, to chill out and enjoy each others company.  There will be minimal costs to the weekend ie Fish & Chips and the Celidh, and obviously we will need numbers for those events.  So if you are interested, please drop Carol an email or ring her on 01472 885911 and book your camping pitch, Fish and Chips, Ceilidh tickets, asap.

On Sunday 31st May at we will be having a very different kind of Café Worship with the aim of engaging our young people, alongside our regular congregation, in a ‘Balloon Debate’.  The Balloon Debate aims to tackle some tough questions that our young people have about God, Christianity and the universe from different perspectives.   We will also be offering a more traditional worship and prayer time in the Chapel before the Balloon Debate begins.

We invite you to join us for one or both of these acts of worship as follows:

9:45 Worship and Prayer in Chapel

10:30 Balloon Debate with coffee and other refreshments in the Edge.
